something old I forgot to submit...

It was taken outside in broad daylight. Midsummer. Just after the garden was watered ( which is a rare event )

If this was shot in broad daylight, how'd you get the background so uniformly black?
hey, that's a very nice one!:) i love that contrast and drops of water:)

i love photos like this one~ It seems sort of mysterious due to the black background and the strong shadows on the leaf~ nice! The droplets are so cute ^____^
the drops on the leaf are very dynamic!

....it makes me thirsty in a wierd way....very nice shot man
great light and I love the drops
Ahhh now this is awesome! X3 I love the lighting in this one! And the shadows the little water droplets are casting!  But how'd you take this, if you don't mind me asking? I can't figure out how you got the black background (unless it was edited on the computer, heh :giggle: ) It looks great! :D

*disappears into the darkness* :giggle:
thanks for the favourite!

um, the sunlight was intensely shining through a nearby tree, so the light was dappled. This leaf was glowing incredibly bright ( and seemed to be somewhat reflective ) , and just behind it was a dark green tin fence which was in shadow.
so yeah, I exposed for the leaf and the flat dark green fence became a flat black colour.
:)
The light was dappled amongst the trees. this leaf caught the sunlight and my back fence ( which was behind it ) was in shadow. you know how the fence is dark green? well i used a fast shutter speed to expose for the brightness of the leaf, and the fence came out darker due to that.
